Artist Development

What: PlaySwap - An exchange of techniques, methods and practice, for exploring plays, to develop skills.

The first PlaySwap will be themed ‘Skills for Exploring Text’. This will take the form of an active workshop. Each participant will bring one or two exercises to share with the group.

The exercises can be those which you have found particularly useful and which you are confident to lead. They may also be exercises you have never led but would like the opportunity to try out.

You will have the opportunity to lead exercises, share ideas, participate, discuss, develop and discover ways of exploring a play text.

Themes for future PlaySwaps:

professional management skills, ways of working with music for theatre, physical theatre in context of working with a play text, mask work, Theatre of the Oppressed and Boalian Theatre.

Who:

PlaySwap is aimed at theatre practitioners, who would like an active forum where they can re-engage, reflect, refresh and reignite, through sharing ideas, exchanging working methods and technique in a dynamic, focused, creative environment.

Community & Education

What: Story-Catching

Having received funding from UnLtd*, I am currently working on a pilot community drama project called Story-Catching. The first project will happen in the West London Community around Notting Hill, and will involve a core group of young adults 'catching stories' about life in the area, from diverse groups of local people. It will then be developed into a public performance. The project will involve video, music, writing and drama. The project started in December 06.

Who:

I am recruiting participants; creative 18-25 yr olds, from the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. I am also looking for volunteer staff to assist the project. Please contact me if you would like to be involved. playclub@hotmail.co.uk
